Our goal at Forwrd is to help you make your data more actionable and predictable.
But customer data is not always represented in the most optimal way. We understand this.
That’s why we keep improving Forwrd to help you “connect the dots” and generate predictions that are accurate and easy to understand.
Today, we introduce Forwrd Transform, the simplest way to optimize your data for predictions and forecasts. Let’s see how it works –
I want to predict which opportunities will convert to customers, and one of the intent signals I want to consider in this prediction is ‘emails opened’. But my CRM holds the total number of Emails Opened… which is problematic to look at. Here’s why -
If we have 2 prospects, one created a week ago and the other one a quarter ago, and both opened 4 emails - they are engaging differently. Knowing that both users opened 4 emails is not a good measure of user engagement.
The metric we should be measuring is ‘how many emails these users open each week’. And that’s exactly what our NEW ‘calculated field feature’ lets you do.
This type of relative metrics provide a more nuanced view of user engagement and can help you identify trends and patterns that are not immediately apparent when using aggregated metrics. By creating calculated fields, you can better forecast revenue growth, churn, and other key business metrics more accurately.
But that’s not all – In Forwrd Transform, you can do more than calculations with the new ‘Lookup’ feature, which makes it easier to read and explain your reports. A lot of times, reports include technical data like campaign ID and account owner ID, which is impossible to read by humans. To help you turn such fields into human-readable data, we extended Forwrd Transform to have a Lookup field.
Let’s look at an example –Say we’ve built a model that predicts whether a low tier customer will become a mid-market, or enterprise customer. Btw - this is something that we see a lot these days, given the PLG trend. In this example, we would normally connect our product analytics or a data warehouse, to get our product-usage data, along with CRM data which holds contact and account information.
Now, since information system objects and data tables hold references, in our decision base we have the account owner id – but IDs cannot be easily read by humans. To make Forwrd reports more readable, we’d like to include AO name - not ID.
With the new Lookup feature, I can use the AO ID to add a field with the account owner’s name, by taking it from any object, DWH table, and even a CSV.
And you can do this via our no-code interface. No SQL or coding skills needed. Super simple.
